BCLA Seminar ~ TOPIC “Fit and Function” with Kathlene McCuaig from JUZO

Kathlene is currently the Western Canada Sales Manager for JUZO CANADA. She has been a Certified Compression Garment Fitter since 1998 in all major brands.  With a background in home health care and pharmacy operations Kathlene has experienced first-hand the relationships between manufacturers, fitters, medical professionals and clients.  She has a passion for bringing the stakeholders together and improving the quality of life for people who live with lymphedema. As a member of BCLA serving on both the Membership and Advocacy Committees she has found great personal satisfaction in helping to achieve this goal.

PRESENTATION OVERVIEW “FIT and FUNCTION”

Join Kathlene as we explore the correlation between the requirement for quality fabrics in our compression garments and the results! Fabrics that contain the right amount of elastomers for gradient compression covered in yarns such as cotton or silver thread can make an incredible difference to our garments.  The ability to create made-to-measure pieces with options such as silicone bands, silk comfort patches or zippers improves fit and encourages compliance.  You will be surprised at how fabrics have evolved to aid in the proper management of lymphedema and its particular challenges.
